Pottery is my second love, although it’s the process that I enjoy the most. I had my first pottery & ceramics class in high school. I took one at Valencia when I couldn’t decide what I wanted to do with my associate’s degree.

When I went back to complete my bachelor’s degree at UCF, continuing with pottery as an elective made the most sense, despite the time gap of almost 20 years between any of the classes. I had saved all of my tools, though.

These days, I’ve got a kiln in my garage along with a wheel and a variety of tools. I find joy in taking a nondescript piece of clay and turning it into a functional piece of artwork.
